Traffic Message Channel - TMC
The traffic message channel (TMC) is a digital data channel traffic programme that provides updated, real time information on traffic. SEAT’s navigation systems with dynamic route guidance rely on this data and check the destination traffic conditions and especially the traffic flow of the selected route over the course of 200 kilometres.
If the TMC reports a traffic jam or other obstruction, the system automatically calculates an alternative way to your destination and changes the way according to the route guidance without intervention of the driver. It takes into account the time required for the alternative route.
The route is not changed if the alternative route is longer than driving through the traffic jam.
The transmission of information is carried out uniformly throughout the Federal Republic. Meanwhile, TMC is already available in many parts of Europe. The transfer of data is done digitally and independently of language. Information is displayed in the respective language set by the user.
