SEAT is here to make history. Production reaches 10,000 cars per year. And with the iconic SEAT 600, a star is born.

The Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo, S.A. is founded with one aim: get Spain moving.

1953

Our first SEAT factory opens its doors in Barcelona’s Zona Franca District. 925 employees. One model: the SEAT 1400.

1956

Moving forward fast. With 10,000 cars produced in one year, we continue to reach new milestones.

1957

The SEAT 600 is here to smash the status quo, becoming a Spanish symbol of mobility and freedom.
